Chip manufacturer Nvidia has exposed facts of an innovative graphics processing unit (GPU) which it says will make the world's most fastest super computer. According to Nvidia the engine will run almost eight times sooner than at present, carrying out up to 25,000 trillion floating point operations per second.
While CPUs be predisposed to outpace GPUs at carrying out a solitary set of orders, GPUs have a benefit in that they can take out hundreds of tasks at the same time. The US government strategy to put in nearly 19,000 of Nvidia's new GPUs into its Titan central processing unit later this year. The opinion of Mr. Scott is that a engine like Titan has a financial plan of approximately 10 megawatts, and that costs roughly $10m per year just for the electrical energy.
