Samsung's lead lawyer in its patent trial with Apple has secured his decision to approve the release of a statement containing facts the judge had ruled unacceptable in court. Samsung had hoped to current evidence in court that showed it had intended the F700 phone, which Apple alleges is a copy of the iPhone, in 2006 before the iPhone was announced.
According to the report from website The Verge, the judge had turned into livid while Apple lawyers brought the press release to her notice. Contrary to the representations Apple's counsel made to this court, Samsung did not issue a general press release and more prominently, did not violate any court order or any legal or moral values. However, Judge Lucy Koh had said that these facts should not be shown to the jury since they had been presented too late in the authorized procedure.
