A investigate and rescue operation is happening for two trampers missing in the Tararua Ranges north of Wellington.
Te Papa museum CEO, Doctor Seddon Bennington, 61, and a 54-year-old female tramping buddy, who police say is a family friend have been lost in dense bush while Sunday.
Police hold serious concern for their security.
