The New Zealand Duke of Edinburgh's Award has be renamed to honour investor Sir Edmund Hillary.
Governor General Anand Satyanand announced on Thursday the award, when given in New Zealand, would now be called The Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award.
About 5000 young New Zealanders enrol yearly for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme which has to 126 countries since it started 1956.
