A prisoner who made a quick dash while waiting to appear in the Manukau District Court is still on the loose.Jason Pope escaped police protection around 5pm on Tuesday walking through an insecure door.
Police now need the assistance of the public and describe Pope as European, medium to thin build - wearing a black t-shirt with the word air written on the front.
The 33-year-old also has heavily tattooed lower arms.
Police have commenced an internal investigation into the circumstances of his escape.
