CHICAGO - A student at Northern Illinois University be shot & injured Friday, triggering a brief lockdown of the campus that was lifted after the supposed assailant was caught, school authorities told.The shooting outer a residence hall appeared to be "an isolated incident among two individuals," the school said on its website. The wounded was taken to a hospital. The school told classes were to be held as common at the 24,000-student university, which is in DeKalb, 65 miles southwest of Chicago.
On Feb. 14, 2008, a previous graduate student at NIU opened fire in a lecture hall, killing 5 & injuring 19 before turning the gun on him.
