Lindsey Vonn was the best skier in the world for the third year in a row. She didn't have to create her last run, but she contested anyway & won Friday's super-G to turn into the most talented U.S. skier by 33 World Cup victories.Vonn captured her 3rd straight overall World Cup title when rival & friend Maria Riesch finished out of the main 2. "I said 'Let's go for the American record,'" Vonn said.
Vonn won the super-G on the Kandahar course within a minute, 19.30 secs. Elisabeth Goergl of Austria was 2nd in 1:19.46 & Nadia Styger of Switzerland took 3rd.
Vonn became the 1st woman to win 3 straight overall titles since Petra Kronberger of Austria in 1990-92. She completed the season with a U.S.-record 11 wins, with 4 of 7 super-G races.
