Australian government has signed a multi-million dollar contract with an Israeli defence company to make the next generation of command & communications system for elements of the Australian Defence Force.Minister for Defence Greg Combet told that the $349 million contract had been signed with the Haifa based Elbit Systems following a world-wide open tender. Elbit will expand a command, control & communications capability for elements of the army, Special Operations Command, & the Air Force's combat support team.
Mr Combet says it'll boost the ADF's battle space alertness, automate battle messaging, & aid in the successful conduct of operations.
