Morgan Hill: Dad stabbed seven times by teen daughter's boyfriend, cops say
A 37-year-old father was stabbed 7 times with a pocketknife by the young man dating his teenage daughter, Morgan Hill police said today. And after the Thursday night clash on the grassy lawn of a Morgan Hill apartment complex, Anthony Hernandez is in detention on charges of attempted murder, police said.

Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said Anthony Hernandez has no prior criminal history.

But 23-year-old Hernandez was fingered by the victim, and other witnesses, all of whom were at the Berry Court apartment complex where Anthony Hernandez lived, and where the stabbing took place. The father was stabbed 7 times with a pocketknife in the waist and upper back areas, police said, and is expected to survive, Jerry Neumayer said.

Anthony Hernandez and his girlfriend, who is in her late teens, were at the apartment complex about 9:30 p.m. when her father arrived. At some point, an "argument ensued," Jerry Neumayer said, and witnesses heard Anthony Hernandez say that he wanted to "kill" his girlfriend's dad.

Jerry Neumayer did not know the exact reason for the anger between the father and the boyfriend. "I just know the argument got out of hand," he added.
