Boehner calls on Obama to fire economic team


House Minority Leader John Boehner is vocation on President Obama to fire his financial team, including Treasury desk Tim Geithner and senior economic adviser Larry Summers. He says the administration's labors to boost the economy have resulted only in additional job loss.

"The American people are asking, 'Where are the jobs?,' and every one the president's economic team has to offer are swears of 'green shoots' that never seem to grow," Boehner said in a speech to the City Club of Cleveland that he posted on his website. "The worse belongings get, the more they circle the wagons and defend the hard to defend."

Boehner, who is in line to take the speaker's gavel should the GOP win organize of the House, slammed the White House and Democrats for running up the central deficit and called last year's incentive plan a failure that did little to stem the nation's rising being without a job. Obama, Boehner said, should ask for and accept the resignation of his entire economic team to give the country a "fresh start."
