Gentleman to stand trial over bridge swing death

The manager of an adventure company will stand trial for manslaughter, following the death of an 18-year-old university scholar in March this year.

Catherine Peters died hours after falling 22 metres onto a river bed from the bridge in the Manawatu Gorge.

She had been on a Massey Alpine Club bridge-swinging outing.

Alastair McWhannell was the manager of adventure operator Crag Adventures.
