South Auckland police are to reveal more details about a man they took into custody following a series of sex attacks in the Mangere area.The man was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after approaching a young girl in the same walkway where there have been three sexual attacks in the past month and a half.
Police say the man was picked up near Cape Road and Mascot Avenue, the same area where an eight-year-old girl was attacked last Monday.
The area is popular with children with a school, playcentre and swimming pool all near the walkway.
Police are not commenting at this stage whether the man in custody is connected to the earlier assaults but are expected to give an update on Wednesday morning.
