Boy, 11, falls from top bunk

An 11-year-old boy was flown to hospital once he falling from the top bunk in a hut in Abel Tasman National Park.

Joshua Bolitho was airlifted from Bark Bay after suffering arm & shoulder injuries early yesterday. The 7yr student had dropped after forgetting he was on a top bunk.

Summit Rescue Helicopter pilot Tim told the boy wake up to go the toilet but forget he was sleeping on an elevated bed. His mother told that her son had a displaced elbow that was maybe fractured, he need full-arm cast.
