MADRID - A British woman arrested after her 2 children died in a Spanish resort on Tuesday is the partner of a man also detained in Spain this month on charges of child rape, media reported on Wednesday.
Barcelona police declined to comment.
Spanish police arrested the 45-year-old man in Barcelona on May 7, newspaper El Pais reported, on charges of various sex crimes between 1995 and 2005 and the rape of a stepdaughter.
He had been on the run from British courts for 2 years, the paper said.
A British woman was detained at the four-star Hotel Miramar on the beach at Lloret del Mar on Tuesday following the deaths of her 2 children, aged 1 and 5.
