Murder blamed Thobolo Pusoetsile, yesterday told the court that h
e acted in self guard after the now dead Bonewamang Jame beaten him for not taking action next to the mother of his child whom he said was sleeping with other men at his (Jame) place.
According to the State, Jame died from injuries continued after Pusoetsile hit him with a log on the head next a quarrel at a shebeen in Maun, 2006.
In his protection the accused is claiming that Jame instigated the fall out after he accused him of foolishness.
This is after he exposed that the person who was buying him beer was forever sleeping with Barulaganyi Ketshegile (Pusoetsile's girl friend) at Jame's place.
"I told the dead that I would wait and observe whether what he was saying was the truth.
I also warned him not to talk about such matters in a shebeen, but rather to take me to a personal place if he indeed wanted to assist me like he said," the accused stated.
Pusoetsile said they continuous drinking and next Jame later raised the issue again after the person that was supposed to be sleeping with Ketshegile retired to his homestead.
He asserts that Jame stood up and started thrashing him saying, "I am going to beat you for your stupidity.
That person has gone to sleep with Ketshegile, and you are not even bothered."
The accused said when another man interfered the deceased went to his home and later came back with his mother.
