Iran woman's stoning suspended after global outcry
Iranian establishment have suspended the carrying out by stoning of a woman convict of adultery, the overseas Ministry said on Wednesday, after weeks of blame from around the world.

"The decision regarding the extramarital relationships has stopped and it's being reviewed," Foreign office spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told Iran's state-run English-language Press TV.

The declaration came a day after European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso called the stoning verdict against Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani "barbaric beyond words," the latest in a string of criticism by foreign powers.
