Soldier's father: Army was warned of murder plot

The father of a U.S. soldier portion in Afghanistan says he tried almost a half dozen times to pass an urgent message from his son to the Army: Troops in his unit had killed Afghan civilian, planned more killings and in danger him to keep quiet about it.

Through the time officials under arrested suspect’s months later, two more Afghans were dead.

Plus much to Christopher Winfield's horror, his son Adam was in the middle of the five Fort Lewis-based soldiers emotional in the killings.

The senior Winfield told The Associated Press in a restricted interview that his son did not kill the without arms man and would never have been in the condition if the Army had investigated the warnings he says he passed next to to Fort Lewis.
