Libyan rebels take most of Tripoli

Euphoric Libyan rebels took manage of most of Tripoli in a lightning advance Sunday, celebrating the victory in Green Square, the emblematic heart of Moammar Gadhafi's regime, Gadhafi's defenders quickly melted gone as his 42-year rule crumbled, but the leader's whereabouts were unidentified and pockets of resistance remained.

State TV broadcast Gadhafi's bitter pleas used for Libyans to defend his regime, Opposition fighters captured his son and one-time heir apparent, Seif al-Islam, who all along with his father faces charges of crimes against humanity on the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands another son was under house arrest.

"It's over, frizz-head," chant hundreds of jubilant men and women massed in Green Square, by means of a mocking nickname of the curly-haired Gadhafi the revelers enthusiastic shots in the air, clapped and waved the rebels' tricolor flag a few set fire to the green flag of Gadhafi's regime and shot holes in a poster through the leader's image.
