Amazing 3D TV channel: China

China has launched its first three-dimensional television channel operated by China Central Television and five local stations, aims to be launched appropriately over the impending Chinese New year on a trial basis. Others uttered scepticism, saying they would wait until novel 3D TV sets that did not need particular spectacles arrived.

Similar services are already launched by Countries like Japan, South Korea and India. The suggestion of broadcast regulator is that the new service could engender huge returns for the industry if a proportion of China's 500 million TV sets were replaced by 3D ones. The opinion of the official Xinhua News Agency is that the free-to-air channel will at first transmit 4.5 hours of 3D encoding each day which will be constant two times.
